How does our pudendal cushion work?
To effectively address pudendal pain, our seating cushion for pudendalgia acts in several ways:
- Thick cushion: Alcock Rest cushion is thicker at the back than at the front. This difference in thickness aims to elevate the buttocks to open the pelvic and reduce compression of the abdomen.
- Pudendal neuralgia cushion with relief of the Alcock's canal: Alcock Rest cushion integrates a specific cut-out designed on our 10-year experience with people suffering from pudendal nerve entrapment syndrome. Alcock Rest cushion provides relief to the entire area from the sacrum to the perineum, which could otherwise affects the pudendal nerve.
- High-Viscosity Fluid Technology: In addition to reducing pressure when sitting, the fluid pouches in our pudendal nerve cushion absorb shocks and vibrations that would otherwise increase pain while driving.
What is pudendal neuralgia or Alcock's canal syndrome?
Pudendal neuralgia is a neurological condition affecting the pudendal nerve, located in the deep pelvic region and through the pudendal canal. Often mistaken for gynecological or urological disorders, pudendal neuralgia or Pudendal Nerve Entrapment (PNE) can cause unbearable pain in various regions of the pelvis, such as pain in the anus, perineum, or genital area.
The pain associated with the pudendal nerve syndrome highly impacts daily life. For people suffering from pudendal neuralgia, even sitting down for a meal becomes difficult and painful.
Our advice
Our pudendal nerve cushion consists of foams and four fluid pouches. This fluid is not affected by temperature changes and can be used to relieve pain through cold therapy: Remove the cover, take out the fluid pouches and place them in the freezer for a few hours before placing them back into the cushion. The fluid turns white but does not solidify; it returns to its translucent state at room temperature.
We recommend purchasing an additional set of fluid pouches along with the cushion to ensure there is always a set of pouches in place in the cushion while the other set is cooling down in the freezer. The fluid pouches can also be detached and moved to adapt to your pressure points while sitting.

Alcock Rest pudendal nerve cushion is available in 4 sizes to suit different body shapes:
- For men wearing at most a size 46 pants and women wearing at most a size 40 pants (EU size), we recommend choosing a 40-cm width cushion. This cushion size easy adapts to all types of seat, including car seats and bucket seat. For people wearing a bigger size, we generally recommend choosing a 45-cm width cushion.
- To use the pudendal cushion at home or in the office, we recommend choosing a cushion with a 40-cm length, which fit more easily on office or kitchen chairs. To use in cars, we recommend choosing a 45-cm length cushion, which will support the entire thigh to avoid a cut mid-thigh that could cause discomfort.
Please note that this seating cushion is quite thick (5 cm at the back) and may raise you too high in the car seat. It may be difficult to use in vehicles that do not have height-adjustable seats.

The optional fastening straps are designed for use in vehicles. They attach around the backrest to stabilize the cushion and prevent it from slipping due to movement.
NOTICE: For seats equipped with side airbags, do not use the strap option, as it may interfere with airbag deployment.
