What is crural neuralgia? What’s the difference between cruralgia and sciatica? And how can cruralgia be treated effectively?

Cluneal neuralgia, or clunealgia, is caused by compression of the cluneal nerve. This nerve is located in the buttock, near the ischium. The cluneal nerve branches off from the posterior femoral cutaneous nerve in the lower part of the buttock and extends toward the ischium. It passes through the latero-anal region without directly affecting the anus.

Pudendal neuralgia, also known as Alcock’s canal syndrome, causes pelvic pain—especially when sitting for extended periods. Learn about its symptoms, associated pain, and available treatment options.
