The effectiveness of Polux was tested in a clinical study involving 30 subjects with macular degeneration. With Polux lighting, subjects gained 3 full lines of acuity in near vision (from 3.3/10 to 7/10).

Tests were conducted on men and women aged 48 to 94 with AMD/cataracts/diabetic retinopathy/other macular degeneration, using Polux in automatic mode.
